PROJECTS / RESEARCH

Ph.D. project: “The neuropharmacology of attentional modulation in primate visual cortex”

Diploma thesis: “Ethological and pharmacological studies concerning GABAA receptor-mediated effects in mice”

SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS AND GOALS

I wish to understand the interplay of sensory and attentional signals in primate visual cortex and how these signals are integrated at the single neuron level. Specifically, I want to elucidate whether the modulatory influences of contrast, adaptation and attention match the influence of specific neurotransmitters in area MT.
