PROJECTS / RESEARCH

Titel of thesis “Genetics of sleep circuits”

SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS AND GOALS

During my bachelor and master studies I focused on plant science. According to this I did my bachelor and master thesis in the field of plant basic research. Therefore it was a challenge for me to start my PhD in the animal field using a completely different model system and now answering biologically relevant questions like the regulation of sleep. I am especially interested in the genetics of sleep regulation because for me genetics is the basis for all cellular processes. Working in a new field I am also interested in learning new methods and gaining interdisciplinary knowledge.
